B.Des. Final Project

Untitled

Project Brief: To design a zine/magazine based on any category of personal choice, that effectively combines the subject modules of journalism/creative writing, graphic design, photography/photo-editing and layout design.

Untitled, represents a thoughtful blend of design and storytelling. Centered on travel and culture, the publication takes readers on a journey through the remote and spiritual landscapes of places like Spiti, Ladakh, and Sikkim. The conceptualization of this editorial gave me an opportunity to bring forth personal experiences and stories of traveling to these regions. It combines rich visuals, poetic narratives, and evocative prose to immerse readers in an experience of wanderlust and discovery.

The thought process behind this project was to create more than just a magazine— to move away from the widely and commercially available publications and crafting an emotional connection between the reader and the places they visit through each page. By balancing immersive storytelling with vivid photography and clean design, this editorial is a celebration of travel, culture, and the human experience.

The design strategy involved minimalism infused with a modern aesthetic, taking inspiration from Cereal. Clean layouts were used to ensure that the content remains the focal point, while the typography was carefully selected to reflect the serenity and simplicity of the subjects discussed. The magazine’s structure ensures smooth navigation, guiding the reader from one story to the next in a visually cohesive flow.
